Chatfield Hollows

Last weekend we took the kids to Chatfield Hollow State Park on the shoreline. It's small, private beach with lots of shade and shallow water - perfect for families with small children. The most relaxing part of our day:
When we arrived both kids were sleeping. We stood there for a while considering whether to carry them in their car seats through the wooded path to the beach. I think our shuffling around finally woke Lucas up, which is good because, really, he is 2.5 and in this family that means you carry your own weight plus a cooler of your own stuff. hard core!
A rare moment when there is not a baby climbing up my shoulders, pulling on my hair or a toddler tugging at my legs and arms. The crazy look behind my sunglasses indicates I am prepared for a "Mommy Mommy" attack from either direction.
Ahhhh. Lucas got Greg gooooood with a "Daddy Daddy" attack: The classic back hurtle every day should be ready for at any moment! Taking a break from sand castles to soak in the last of the afternoon sunshine...
