Not to be outdone by the magnificence of Potala Palace, the Chinese government erected this mammoth tribute to "The People" directly across from the palace. What was once a large, undeveloped field next to a river is not a concrete pavilon complete with a water and lights show correographed to "inspiring" music that goes on into the night - every night.
